Job summary

Bay Federal Credit Union is seeking a Business Analyst – Automation to evaluate, design, implement, and optimize tech-enabled solutions across the credit union. About the Role

This position partners with stakeholders to identify operational challenges, document business and technical requirements, improve processes, and deliver solutions that support strategic objectives. This role's focus is on business process analysis, requirements elicitation, robotic process automation (RPA), workflow automation, Microsoft Power Automate, and emerging artificial intelligence capabilities, including agentic AI. This role will lead technology projects, lead user acceptance testing, support organizational change, and help establish governance and best practices for automation and AI-enabled solutions.

Brief Description

The Business Analyst – Automation position plays a key role in evaluating, designing, implementing, and optimizing technology-enabled business solutions across the credit union. This position partners with stakeholders to identify operational challenges, document business and technical requirements, improve processes, and deliver solutions that support strategic objectives. This role's focus is on business process analysis, requirements elicitation, robotic process automation (RPA), workflow automation, Microsoft Power Automate, and emerging artificial intelligence capabilities, including agentic AI. This role will lead technology projects, lead user acceptance testing, support organizational change, and help establish governance and best practices for automation and AI-enabled solutions.

Scheduled Weekly Hours

40 hours per week; Monday – Friday; 8:00 – 5:00pm

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Partner with business units to understand operational needs, identify opportunities, and translate requirements into clear, testable solutions.
  • Analyze and document current-state processes and design future-state workflows that improve efficiency, accuracy, member and employee experience, scalability, compliance, and risk management.
  • Identify, assess, and prioritize opportunities for process automation, workflow automation, low-code solutions, and artificial intelligence.
  • Design, configure, test, deploy, and support automated workflows using Microsoft Power Automate and related Power Platform capabilities.
  • Perform data analysis, business value, risk, and implementation assessments to support automation and process improvement decisions.
  • Support automation governance, including security, Enterprise Risk Management, Compliance, and Legal requirements.
  • Develop business cases and recommendations outlining expected benefits, costs, risks, and success measures for proposed solutions.
  • Create and maintain documentation, including requirements, process flows, testing materials, and operational procedures.
  • Lead or support small technology projects while managing scope, schedule, budget, quality expectations, and stakeholder communication.

  • Experience in business analysis, process improvement, automation, or a related technology-focused role.
  • Strong ability to gather business requirements, analyze processes, and translate business needs into effective technology solutions.
  • Experience with Microsoft Power Automate, Power Platform, workflow automation, or similar low-code/no-code technologies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate data, business value, risks, and potential solutions.
  • Experience creating process documentation, workflows, business requirements, and testing materials.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with business partners, project managers, technology teams, and other stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Understanding of automation governance, security, compliance, and risk considerations.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts and solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Bay Federal Credit Union is proud to offer a competitive, robust compensation and benefits package. Bay Federal considers many factors in determining base pay such as experience, education/training, internal peer equity, job location, and other business considerations when extending an offer. For Santa Cruz, CA only, the pay scale Bay Federal reasonably expects to pay for this position is $70,304 - $85,246. Salaries are based on the geographic location in which you live if working remotely.

Bay Federal provides health care benefits, life and disability insurance, paid holidays and 401k with a company match to eligible employees; along with employee paid voluntary benefits. Paid time off is accrued per paycheck for eligible employees at a rate based on your tenure. Leaves of absences are available in adherence with state and federal regulations.
