Job summary

Forge Group, LLC is seeking a Business Analyst to join cross-functional teams in a secure, cloud-based modernization environment for a DoD customer. You will develop requirements with Operations and Development teammates to support ongoing software development and delivery of solutions.

Therole requires 4+ years of BA experience in software/tech modernization, strong Agile skills, and the ability to work with stakeholders to refine and prioritize user stories within an Agile backlog.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or 4 additional years of relevant professional experience in lieu of a degree.
  • 4+ years of professional experience as a Business Analyst supporting software development and/or technology modernization.
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies and experience with Sprint Planning, Backlog Refinement and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
  • Experience using collaboration tools in the workplace to develop new work products efficiently.
  • Experience working within Agile Development Teams.
  • U.S. citizenship and ability to undergo background investigation.

Responsibilities

Requirement: Business Analyst
Job Description

Forge is seeking a Business Analyst to support cross-functional teams operating in a secure, cloud-based modernization environment for a DoW customer. This role will develop requirements alongside Operational Community and Development team members in support of ongoing software development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work with the Operational Community, Development product team and other stakeholders to define and document requirements as User Stories for an Agile development team
  • Analyze existing business processes and documentation and identify opportunities to improve business processes utilizing the technology
  • Assist in managing the Agile Team backlog, working with the customer to prioritize and further develop user stories and tasks for the team to develop
  • Communicate updates and changes to requirements to program leadership
  • Track progress on development against major milestones for development
  • Create and document designs to describe system modules that require modification and new builds based on the requirements
  • Work with developers and SMEs to verify the requirements and design
  • Develop, modify, test, document, deploy, and monitor applications and databases based on the design document
  • Provide support to Scrum team operations
  • Prepare reports and deliverables
Qualifications/Requirements

The Candidate must have the ability to think strategically, act tactically, and display strong analytical and critical thinking skills. They must also build strong cross-group working relationships and demonstrate exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail. The Candidate must be able to thrive and succeed in an entrepreneurial environment and not be hindered by ambiguity or competing priorities.

Minimum Qualifications
  • US Citizen
  • Previous professional experience supporting the U.S. Federal Government, either as a federal employee or contractor, is required
  • 4+ years of professional experience as a Business Analyst supporting software development and/or technology modernization
  • Bachelor's degree, OR 4 additional years of relevant professional experience in lieu of a degree
  • Excellent facilitation, written communication, stakeholder management, and organizational skills
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies and experience with Sprint Planning, Backlog Refinement and User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
  • Experience using collaboration tools in the workplace to develop new work products efficiently
  • Experience working within Agile Development Teams
  • Active Tier 2 background investigation or higher, completed or favorably adjudicated within the previous 18 months.
Highly Desired Qualifications
  • Experience developing requirements based on a variety of inputs including Enterprise Architecture (EA) viewpoints and other process documents
  • Experience eliciting requirements from a team comprised of a variety of stakeholders
  • Experience with Appian
  • Experience with Jira and Confluence
  • SAFe Foundational Certification or higher
  • Familiarity with Database development principles (Structured Query Language - SQL)
  • Familiarity with API development principles
  • Knowledge of Federal Requirements and standards associated with software development
  • Experience working within DoW
