Senior Business Analyst – Fund Operations IT
Location: New York
A leading global financial services organisation is looking for a Senior Business Analyst to join its Fund Operations IT team in New York.
You will work closely with global IT teams, Operations, Front Office Technology and Finance Technology, driving front-to-back system changes and acting as a key bridge between business stakeholders and technology.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead requirements gathering, business analysis and functional solution design for post-trade applications.
- Own project planning, execution and documentation for North American market initiatives, including regulatory and settlement-cycle changes.
- Partner with Operations, Front Office IT and Finance IT teams on cross-functional system changes.
- Act as the key liaison between business stakeholders and IT, translating complex technical and functional issues into clear business impact.
- Mentor junior Business Analysts and contribute to team development and knowledge sharing.
- Analyse and implement technologies including SQL, FIX and SWIFT to enhance post-trade workflows.
- Ensure adherence to DTCC processes and regulatory reporting requirements.
- Maintain strong project governance within a fast-paced and evolving environment.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree or higher in IT, Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline.
- 7+ years' IT experience, including at least 5 years within an investment banking environment.
- 5+ years' Business Analysis experience, ideally with strong exposure to Post Trade / Middle & Back Office Equity applications.
- Strong knowledge of 15a6 regulatory compliance, FINRA rules and DTCC workflows.
- Proven experience managing projects from initiation through to delivery.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to translate complex technical issues into clear business outcomes.
- Highly organised, detail-oriented and comfortable managing multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
- Experience with FIX, SWIFT messaging or reconciliation systems would be advantageous.
- Knowledge of Cash Equities front-to-back workflows is preferred but not essential.
