We’re a small, fast-moving healthcare data analytics company looking for a curious, detail-oriented Business Analyst to help turn the needs of our clients and internal teams into clear requirements our product and engineering teams can build from. You’ll sit at the center of our pharmacy analytics work — gathering requirements, documenting how things work today, validating data and reports, and making sure what we ship actually solves the problem it set out to solve.
The ideal candidate will have a background in business, data analytics, or pharmacy operations. They ask good questions, chase down loose ends, and want to understand the why behind the work. They are comfortable with SQL and a genuine appetite for learning the pharmacy data domain will take you a long way here.
Key Responsibilities
- Gather requirements from clients, product, and internal stakeholders, and translate them into clear user stories, acceptance criteria, and process documentation.
- Document current-state workflows, business rules, and data definitions so the team has a shared, reliable source of truth.
- Write and run SQL queries to answer stakeholder questions, validate data, and investigate discrepancies — with support and code review as you build the skill.
- Perform user acceptance testing on reports, dashboards, and application features, verifying they meet the documented requirements before they reach clients.
- Perform weekly reviews of client programs, tracking performance against expected results, and summarizing findings for the account and product teams.
- Partner with engineering and analytics throughout the sprint to clarify requirements, answer questions, and keep work traceable from initial request through release.
- Help triage incoming client requests and issues, gathering the detail needed to prioritize them with the Product Manager.
- Build a working understanding of pharmacy, 340B, and PBM data, and grow into a go-to resource for how our data fits together.
- Bring forward ideas for improving our processes, documentation, and reporting.
Required Qualifications
- 1–2 years of professional experience in a business analyst, reporting, operations, or similar analytical role. Internships, co-ops, and relevant academic or personal projects count.
- Strong written and verbal communication, with the ability to explain technical details to non-technical audiences and vice versa.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, with a habit of documenting your work.
- A demonstrated appetite for learning — courses, certifications, side projects, or any other evidence you pursue skills on your own initiative.
- Strong communication and remote collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualiftications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, information systems, analytics, healthcare administration, or a related field.
- Experience with Excel beyond the basics (pivot tables, lookups, cleaning messy data).
- Working knowledge of SQL — comfortable writing SELECT queries with joins, filters, and aggregation, and motivated to go deeper.
- Exposure to Power BI, Tableau, or a similar BI/reporting tool.
- Familiarity with agile workflows and tools such as Azure DevOps, Jira, or Confluence.
- Experience writing user stories, requirements documents, or process maps.
- Understanding of basic data warehouse and data modeling concepts.
- Prior exposure to 340B, PBM, claims, or other healthcare/pharmacy data is a plus.
