Techno Consult Engineering, PC in Jersey City, NJ is seeking a Business Analyst to support the Port Authority of NY and NJ. You will process contractor payment applications, assist with stage IV contract closeout, and coordinate with Resident Engineer offices and internal departments throughout NY and NJ.

This is an on-site role at the Port Authority Technical Center, requiring strong communication, analytical skills, and proficiency with SAP and AVM.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in office engineering, contract administration, or related admin role with construction contract administration experience.
• Associate degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred for engineering-related fields.
• Experience using SAP and AVM systems.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft Teams.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to pass a SWAC or TWIC high-level background check.
• Valid driver’s license.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Techno is seeking a Business Analyst to support a project with the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey. Reporting to the Manager of Contract Administration, this role is responsible for processing contractor payment applications and supporting contract closeout activities for Stage IV construction contracts, and coordinating with Resident Engineer offices and internal agency departments throughout NY and NJ. This is a fully on-site position based at the Port Authority Technical Center in Jersey City, NJ.

• Review, analyze, and process contractor payment applications and supporting documentation, including change orders, contract conversions, field items, desk audits, and related records.
• Collaborate with Resident Engineer offices and internal departments—including Comptroller, Procurement, and other agency divisions—to facilitate accurate and timely payment processing.
• Coordinate and assist with the preparation and processing of construction contract closeout documentation, including Completion of Work Memorandums, Certificates of Final Completion, Certificates of Total Compensation, and other required closeout documents.
• Maintain accurate contract records and ensure compliance with agency procedures and contractual requirements.
• Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders to resolve payment and contract administration issues.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

• 5+ years in office engineering, contract administration, or related admin role, with a strong background in construction contract administration.
• Associate Degree in Business or related field from an accredited college or university; Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field preferred.
• Experience using SAP and AVM systems.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft Teams.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to successfully pass a SWAC or TWIC high-level background check.

COMPENSATION

The anticipated compensation range for this position is $45-$60/hr. Final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, education, certifications, skills, and work location.
