Business Analyst – User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
Location: Harrisburg, PA (Hybrid – In-office at least one day per week) Position Type: Contract
Overview
We are seeking a Business Analyst (BA) with strong User Acceptance Testing (UAT) experience. This role involves full lifecycle business analysis, with a focus on requirements gathering, UAT execution, and deployment support. The ideal candidate will have experience working in health-related programs, strong writing and facilitation skills, and the ability to work effectively in Agile environments.
Key Responsibilities
User Acceptance Testing (UAT):
- Lead and facilitate UAT efforts, including writing detailed test scripts, executing test plans, and validating results.
- Ensure testing aligns with business and system requirements, identifying and documenting defects.
Requirements Gathering & Documentation:
- Work closely with stakeholders to gather, document, and refine business requirements.
- Develop detailed test plans, requirements documentation, and RACI matrices.
Business Process & System Analysis:
- Evaluate existing systems and processes, recommend improvements, and document business rules.
Training & Facilitation:
- Develop and deliver training content, presentations, and documentation for end users and stakeholders.
- Assist in facilitating Business Requirements (BR) sessions, training, and daily check-ins.
Collaboration & Communication:
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, testers, and business stakeholders, to ensure successful project execution.
Testing in Agile Environments:
- Conduct Operational Readiness Testing (ORT) and UAT in an Agile setting.
DevOps Tools & Testing Frameworks:
- Use tools like MS Team Foundation Server (TFS), Azure DevOps, and Microsoft Test Manager to manage test cases and track defects.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Business Analyst with a strong UAT background.
- Experience in writing test scripts, executing test cases, and validating test results in a structured environment.
- Familiarity with Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW), Cognos, or other data analytics platforms (preferred but not required).
- Strong writing skills with experience developing test cases, training materials, presentations, and business documentation.
- Familiarity with Department of Human Services (DHS) systems is a plus (CIS, COMPASS, eCIS, MCI, CHIP CAPS, PELICAN, HCSIS, CWIS, etc.).
- Strong Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) knowledge and experience in Agile environments.
- Policy QA experience – reviewing federal, state, and local policy changes and making recommendations (preferred).
Technical Skills:
- Testing Tools: Selenium (preferred), Microsoft Test Manager, Azure DevOps, TFS
- Data & Reporting Tools: Cognos, Tableau (preferred)
- Business Documentation: RACI Matrices, Requirements Documents, Test Plans, Use Cases
