Job summary

Doeren Mayhew in Troy, Michigan seeks a Senior Associate to join our Business Advisory team. You will prepare financial reports, tax returns, and provide client advisory services with a focus on accuracy and timeliness.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years of public accounting experience in tax preparation and bookkeeping, with strong analytical, research, and communication skills. CPA track is preferred but not required; Microsoft Office and QuickBooks proficiency is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's and/or master's degree in accounting, taxation, or a related field.
• CPA or CPA track preferred, but not required.
• 2+ years of experience in public accounting or consulting.

Responsibilities

• Prepare financial reports including cash-flow statements, budgets, projections, and dashboard reports.
• Prepare tax returns for individuals, partnerships, C-corporations, S-corporations, trusts, and payroll.
• Provide QuickBooks support and training.
• Consult with clients daily.
• Assist with compliance and IRS notices.
• Conduct tax research on various topics.
• Participate in special projects such as strategic planning and systems optimization.

Doeren Mayhew is seeking a highly skilled Senior Associate to join our Business Advisory departmentheadquartered in Troy, Michigan. Our ideal candidate would have 2 plus years’ public accounting experience in business and individual tax preparation and bookkeeping.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare financial reports including cash-flow statements, budgets, projections, and dashboard reports. Analyze and reconcile financial accounts, support general ledger management, provide cash-flow analysis and report on budget variances.
• Prepare tax returns for individuals, partnerships, C-corporations, S-corporations, trusts, personal property, and payroll.
• Provide QuickBooks support and training.
• Consult with clients daily.
• Assist with compliance and IRS notices.
• Conduct tax research on various topics.
• Participate in special projects such as strategic planning, exit planning, systems optimization, organizational design, etc.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's and/or master’s degree in accounting, taxation, or a related field
• CPA or CPA track preferred, but not required
• 2+ years of experience, preferably in a public accounting or consulting firm
• Excellent, analytical, problem-solving, and research skills, and written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and QuickBooks
