Job summary

Platform Accounting Group is seeking a Business Advisory Manager in Greenville, SC with hybrid schedule options. You will oversee client engagements, review work, and deliver financial statements while guiding a team of advisors across diverse clients.

You will apply GAAP standards, supervise accounting processes, and provide strategic advisory services. A strong CPA/Advanced degree and 5–15 years’ experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• 5–15 years of professional accounting experience across multiple clients/industries.
• Ability to create and understand accurate financial statements.
• Experience with NetSuite and Sage Intacct is a plus.
• Bachelor’s degree required (Master’s preferred); CPA preferred.

• Teach, coach, and train team members at various levels.
• Review work from entry level and senior staff.
• Provide accounting and advisory services for a variety of clients.
• Perform general accounting duties including journal entries and reconciliations.

The Business Advisory Manager is a key part of our team - In this role, you will be directly responsible for the timely completion of each engagement, including the general bookkeeping, payroll, and business advisory work for a variety of individual and business clients across the entire organization. The Business Advisory Manager must know the structure of their team well and deploy the team’s strengths across client engagements accordingly. You will review work done by Business Advisors and Senior Business Advisors, manage all client work, and deliver financial statements (and various other deliverables) on deadlines while communicating with the Senior Manager.

What you will do:

• Manage all client work
• Teach, coach, and train team members at various levels.
• Oversee and review work from entry level & senior staff.
• Provide accounting and advisory services for a variety of clients, including individuals and businesses in a variety of industries.
• Perform general accounting duties including entering transactions and reconciling general ledger, credit card, and cash accounts; propose and record journal entries.
• Perform complex adjustments and reconciliations on books; clean-up of accounting systems and records.
• Utilize accounting software and systems to prepare financial reports, ensuring adherence to accounting standards such as GAAP.
• Propose and set up accounting systems and services for new clients through QuickBooks Online
• Prepare and file sales tax returns, record and report fixed assets and personal property.
• Utilize strong industry knowledge and research abilities to provide high level service on complex projects.
• Proactive risk and compliance assessments, and best practice recommendations to clients.
• Manage personal and team projects, manage competing priorities, and ensure timely completion of projects and adherence to deadlines.
• Develop relationships with clients?and gain understanding of their finances and businesses.
• Interpret financial reports provided by clients, and within accounting software.
• Propose and record journal entries for business clients.
• Build knowledge of tax laws and accounting practices to better serve our client’s needs.
  

What we look for:

• 5 - 15 years of professional accounting experience, preferably across multiple clients and industries.
• Ability to create and understand accurate financial statements
• Experience with NetSuite and Sage Intact a plus
• Bachelor’s degree required (or equivalent experience), Master’s Degree preferred.
• CPA preferred.
• Superior accuracy and technical expertise, knowledge of client industries.
• Excellent communication, attention to detail, strong analytical skills
• Expert use of accounting software & systems, and ability to learn new systems quickly.
