This position will provide high level managerial, administrative, and operational strategic support to the Dean as well as support the various business operations for the College of Urban Planning and Public Affairs.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-level administrative assistance to the Dean. Proactively maintain the Dean’s calendar. Serve as the primary contact for meeting requests and initiate standing meetings. Handle privileged and confidential Dean’s Office information and as manage the flow of communication in and out of the Dean’s Office. Ensure timely and effective communication with all university members (faculty, staff, and students) and non-members (alumni, donors, affiliates and guests). Aid in the facilitation of both internal and external collaborations that continually improve the college’s status and prospects.
  • Manage day-to-day successful function of the Dean’s Office, including building access and security, front desk operations, equipment and facilities management, and the staff calendar. Supervise student employees.
  • Assist the Dean with strategic initiatives and coordination of the implementation of relevant elements of the College’s strategic plan.
  • Assist the Associate Dean in reviewing, assessing, updating, and maintaining College business guidelines and procedures related to operations and facilities management. Assist with purchasing and reimbursements.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between the College and other key campus administrative units, including the Chancellor’s and Provost’s Offices, other Deans’ Offices, and the like.
  • In collaboration with College UEOs, manage College space planning, office moves, and any renovation projects. Conduct the annual review of and plans for College space assignments.
  • Work with vendors on new and recurring services.
  • Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, management, or a field related to the position.
  • Five years of professional business, financial, and/or managerial work experience.
  • Demonstrated experience with strategic deployment and supporting the execution of leadership goals and objectives under the direction of Senior Leadership.
