Job summary

Elgin Community College invites applications for adjunct teaching faculty to provide instruction aligned with the college's goals and evaluate student progress toward educational outcomes. Candidates must have 2,000 hours of related work experience and a bachelor’s degree in the discipline, or 2,000 hours and a master’s degree with at least 18 graduate hours.

Qualifications

• 2,000 hours of related work experience and a bachelor’s degree in the discipline.
• 2,000 hours of related work experience and a master’s degree in the discipline or related discipline with at least 18 graduate hours in the discipline as indicated in the curriculum database.
• Knowledge of marketing, social media, management, sales, organizational structure, communications, customer service and an entrepreneurial mindset.

Responsibilities

• Conduct assigned classes and labs.
• Prepare lessons and provide course syllabus including grading standards, attendance policies, classroom behavior expectations, course outline and contact information.
• Verify student enrollment and submit grade sheets.
• Keep accurate record of student performance and provide timely feedback.
• Maintain office hours and respond via voicemail/email, refer students to support services, and accommodate special needs.
