The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company is seeking a bus tire technician to perform tire maintenance, inspections, and safety checks on city buses. This role emphasizes DOT compliance, safe tire handling, and effective collaboration with customer staff.

Qualifications

• High School or GED preferred.
• Previous commercial tire experience preferred.
• Ability to perform a variety of manual tasks for extended periods.
• Mechanical aptitude and good written and oral communication.

Responsibilities

• Work at customer location designated tire shop with customers' mechanics to ensure tires are reliable and safe.
• Documentwork performed with assigned administrators and customer staff.
• Maintain customer tire inventory from cradle to grave using inventory practices.
• Monitor tire maintenance using specialized software and devices.
• Maintain and repair all customer tires according to industry standards.
• Perform balancing, tire and wheel assembly changes, regrooving, inflation maintenance with tire-related machinery.
• Maintain shop safety and cleanliness.

The starting pay for this position is $27/hr; however, base pay offered may vary depending on factors such-as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location. A Day In Life

• Work performed at customer location designated tire shop, alongside customers mechanics with a focus on ensuring that tires are reliable and safe
• Collaborate with assigned administrators and customer staff to accurately document work performed
• Maintain customer tire inventory from cradle to grave and everything in between by utilizing best inventory management practices
• Monitor tire maintenance through periodic tire inspections, utilizing specialized software and a combination of electronic digital devices
• Maintain and repair all customer tires according to industry standards
• Perform dynamic tire balancing, tire and wheel assembly changes, regrooving, inflation maintenance, utilizing best in class tire related machinery
• Maintain shop safety and cleanness through good housing practices
