Goodyear in California is seeking a Tire Technician to perform on-site work at customer tire shops, focusing on reliability and safety of tires. You will document work with administrators and customer staff, and manage tire inventory from cradle to grave using best practices.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous commercial tire experience.
• Ability to perform manual tasks for extended periods.

• Self-starter and willing to take initiative, able to work without direct supervision.

Responsibilities

• Work at customer location designated tire shop, ensuring tires are reliable and safe.
• Collaborate with administrators and customer staff to document work performed.
• Maintain customer tire inventory from cradle to grave using inventory best practices.
• Monitor tire maintenance through periodic inspections using software and devices.
• Maintain and repair tires to industry standards.
• Perform tire balancing, wheel changes, regrooving, and inflation maintenance with appropriate equipment.
• Maintain shop safety and cleanliness with proper housing practices.

Job description

The starting pay for this position is $20.13/hr; however, base pay offered may vary depending on factors such-as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location. Selected candidates may be eligible for a number of benefits, including: medical, prescription, dental, vision, 401(k), life insurance, disability, tuition assistance, sick and vacation time, as well as tire discounts.

Annual wage increases based on performance.

A Day in Life:

• Work performed at customer location designated tire shop, alongside customers mechanics with a focus on ensuring that tires are reliable and safe
• Collaborate with assigned administrators and customer staff to accurately document work performed
• Maintain customer tire inventory from cradle to grave and everything in between by utilizing best inventory management practices
• Monitor tire maintenance through periodic tire inspections, utilizing specialized software and a combination of electronic digital devices
• Maintain and repair all customer tires according to industry standards
• Perform dynamic tire balancing, tire and wheel assembly changes, regrooving, inflation maintenance, utilizing best in class tire related machinery
• Maintain shop safety and cleanness through good housing practices

• A self-starter and willing to take the initiative, able and willing to work without direct supervision, and be willing to attend appropriate training sessions
