JOB SUMMARY:This position will diagnose and perform all major repairs to mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems on our fleet equipment.
COMPENSATION:Starting rate is $28.18 per hour. You will reach top rate within 3 years (current top rate for 2025is $40.27)
This is a Union environment in association with the Amalgamated Transit Union, Local 282.
AVAILABLE SHIFT:Sunday-Thursday, 11:00pm-7:30am (Friday and Saturday off).

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works in outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes, or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals and vibration. The employee works near moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to risks. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum of two (2) years of attendance at an accredited diesel mechanics school, in addition, may also have completed a certified course of study of the same but not limited to:Auto Repair, Hydraulics, Diesel Engine Repairs, Battery Electric Vehicle Repairs, Electrical Systems Repair, Welding.
OR
Work experience, verifiable by employment records, may be substituted two years for one for educational requirement.
