Job summary

Cathay Express Transportation is seeking safety focused and customer service oriented Bus Operators to transport individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to and from day habilitation programs throughout New York City.

The Bus Operator is responsible for the safe operation of the assigned vehicle, reliable on-time service, and providing a safe, respectful, and positive transportation experience for every passenger.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Valid New York State driver's license required.
• CDL Class B or C with Passenger endorsement preferred; Paid CDL training may be available for qualified candidates.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate company vehicles in accordance with traffic laws, DOT regulations, and company policies.
• Transport passengers safely and on schedule using assigned routes and manifests.
• Assist with loading/unloading of passengers and secure wheelchairs and mobility devices.
• Complete required pre-trip and post-trip inspections; report safety concerns immediately.
• Maintain professional and courteous service to passengers, families, staff, and coworkers.
