Marshall County Board of Education seeks a Bus Operator for Route 34, countywide. Anticipated start: November 16, 2026, with a 200-day term and a six-hour day, flexible by runs and student needs.
Responsibilities include safety, pre-trip inspections, student support, and incident reporting. Must hold WV CDL with passenger and school bus endorsements and WVDE certification.
POSITION 27S22 TITLE: Bus Operator (Route 34)
LOCATIONS: Countywide
EMPLOYMENT TERM: Anticipated start date of November 16, 2026, (Normal contract: 200 days, normally six hours per day, but flexible as needed by bus run or student needs).
BID PERIOD: August 27 - September 2, 2026 (4 pm)
Each operator shall familiarize himself/herself with and abide by the contents of the handbook, West Virginia School Transportation Regulations.
A school bus operator must hold a valid WV Commercial Driver's License with passenger and school bus endorsements along with a current WVDE School Bus Operator Certification. The operator must meet all training, health, and age requirements of the State and Local Boards of Education. All bus operators must pass a physical examination as prescribed by the State of WV and administered by a licensed, CDL certified physician, drug and alcohol testing, and State and Federal background checks.
Salary to be determined by salary classification level, experience, and education according to schedule at https://boe.mars.k12.wv.us/o/mcs/page/salary-schedules. Pay Grade D.
