Job summary

RATP Dev USA is seeking a professional bus driver to operate fixed routes with safety and courtesy, ensuring accurate fare reporting and passenger assistance. The role includes pre-trip inspections and adherence to safety policies while delivering reliable transit service to the community.

The ideal candidate will hold a valid CDL with a passenger endorsement, have at least one year of driving experience, and be capable of handling wheelchair lifts/ramps and bus radios.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Must have a valid CDL with passenger endorsement.
• Minimum one year of professional driving experience.
• Ability to operate bus equipment safely and reliably.

Responsibilities

• Drive fixed routes safely and courteously.
• Assist passengers boarding and alighting, including those who are mobility-impaired or with children.
• Provide information on bus routes, services, and fares to passengers.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections and report any issues.
• Record fares and ridership accurately.
• Adhere to company safety policies and schedules.

Profil De Candidat Recherché

• At least 21 years old
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
• A valid CDL driver’s license in good standing
• At least one year of professional driving experience
• Drives fixed routes and operates vehicles and equipment (wheelchair lifts/ramps, bus)
• Drives sets routes and operates vehicles and equipment (wheelchair lifts/ramps, bus headsigns, radios, fareboxes, etc.) safely and reliably.
• Operates vehicles for official transit business only and by the system’s safety plan.
• Provides customer courtesy to all passengers, including providing information on bus transit services and fares in an accurate and friendly manner.
• Provides passenger assistance in boarding and alighting, especially for customers who are elderly, mobility impaired, or who have small children with them.
• Collects and reports passenger fares and ridership in an accurate, honest manner.
• Completes pre-trip and post-trip inspections according to the procedure, noting mechanical failures and maintenance needs on a Daily Vehicle Inspection Report.
• Provides accurate survey documentation (i.e.: boarding/alighting, shelters/benches, obstructing tree limbs, maintenance issues, etc.)
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule which may include nights, weekends and holidays
