Job summary

First Student in Sharonville, OH is seeking an Operations Supervisor to oversee daily bus operations, schedule maintenance and fueling, and support safe, reliable student transportation. The role focuses on leadership, safety, and efficiency across location teams. Schedule: Monday–Friday, 10:00am–6:30pm.

Pay: Up to $58,000/year, based on experience. You may drive a bus occasionally and interact with school officials as needed.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in transportation industry.
• Demonstrates good supervisory skills.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Good interpersonal skills and computer skills.
• Subject to DOT drug testing and physical.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates and promotes a safe work environment at all times.
• Ensures drivers have the daily paperwork necessary to complete their routes.
• Ensures completed charter paperwork is received by the Location Manager for processing.
• Coordinates field trips by the assignment of personnel and vehicles.
• Assists drivers with establishing route descriptions under the Location Manager's direction.
• Ensures drivers follow scheduled fueling and mechanical work.
• Observes safety practices and takes corrective action as needed.
• Assists Location Manager during training sessions and kick-off meetings.
• Attends disciplinary meetings with Location Manager.
• May interact with school officials at smaller bus locations.
• May drive a bus on occasion if necessary.
• Assists dispatcher when necessary.
• May manage small locations under the Location Manager.
• Ensures routes meet state, local, and vendor requirements.
• Reviews time sheets prior to payroll.
