Description

Trinity Health Senior Communities (THSC) is seeking a Transportation Specialist / Bus Driver for its Marian Oakland in Farmington Hills, MI and Villa Marie in Livonia, MI. Both locations are members of Trinity Health Senior Communities (THSC), one of the nation’s largest, multi-institutional Catholic health care delivery systems, with over 40 communities in multiple states. Responsibilities

1. Assist with transportation of residents in a company vehicle to and from appointments, shopping, etc.
2. Provide and maintain the daily appointment log to be used by residents requesting transportation.
3. Provide and maintain weekly sign-up sheets for regularly scheduled runs (e.g., grocery store, malls).
4. Coordinate van schedule by reviewing individual appointments daily, scheduling departures with residents.
5. Incorporate weekly runs into daily scheduled runs.
6. Coordinate information related to van schedule with residents, staff, and external medical offices throughout the day.
7. Advise supervisor and nursing staff of residents who have difficulty handling transportation responsibilities.
8. Accept full responsibility for the physical welfare of residents during transportation.
9. Maintain a monthly transportation schedule with Activity Directors for community functions.
10. Assist residents with limited physical abilities (e.g., help into van, fold walkers, load wheelchairs).
11. Responsible for vehicle maintenance, refueling, and cleanliness of the van.
12. Keep records of van mileage, usage, and destinations.
13. Assist in planning and improving transportation services.
14. Coordinate transportation with outside services as needed.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Valid, active chauffeur's license with an excellent driving record; a CDL may be required for large vans per state law.
