Job summary

Greeley-Evans School District 6 is seeking a Bus Driver in Transportation to operate a school vehicle on a scheduled route, perform pre-trip inspections and ensure passenger safety according to district, state and federal rules.

Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED, a valid school transportation vehicle operator's permit, be at least 21, complete 40 hours of initial training, 28 hours of retraining annually, and pass a yearly physical exam with a clean driving record.

  • Current CDE certification (Can obtain certification after hire)

Responsibilities

  • Operate a transportation vehicle over a scheduled route as directed
  • Perform a pre-trip inspection ensuring equipment and safety devices are in proper order
  • Maintain a professional and defensive driving attitude
  • Maintain proper student behavior as required to transport passengers safely
  • Report emergencies, breakdowns or delays while en-route
  • Report accidents and hazards as soon as possible
  • Prepare and submit daily report
  • Maintain interior and exterior cleanliness of the vehicle
  • May be requested to do night/weekend/day trips
  • May be requested to drive athletic, activity and special trips

Education

Salary: Drivers in Training will receive 23.60 hour plus benefits/ Range 24

Contract Length/ Days: (2026-2027/ 181)

Education/Experience

  • High school diploma or GED

JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary/Objective: Responsible for operating a school transportation vehicle over an assigned route abiding by all rules and regulations for the safety of the passengers as set forth by the district, state and federal government agencies.
