A public university in New York is seeking a temporary Bus Driver to provide transportation services. The following vacancy is for a temporary, hourly at-will appointment that may end at any time at agency discretion.

Vacancy: Temporary Bus Driver

Grade: CSEA SG-8
Hours: F/T: Evenings: 2:00pm-10:30pm, 2:45pm-11:15pm: 9 months annually from mid-August to mid-December then mid-January to mid-May
Duration: Temporary

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Possess and maintain a valid Class A or B New York State commercial driver license (CDL). Appointees will also be required to obtain and maintain a "P" (passenger) endorsement and may also be required to obtain and maintain an "S" (school bus) endorsement based on assignment
OPERATING NEEDS:
Appointment will be contingent upon successful completion of pre-employment testing for controlled substance use as mandated by the Federal Highway Administration Omnibus Transportation Act of 1991 (OTETA). Employment cannot commence until notification for successful completion of this pre-employment testing is received. Please note that in addition to the initial testing required by OTETA, the Act further requires that the University conduct pre-assignment (promotion), reasonable suspicion, post-accident, random, follow-up and return to duty drug and alcohol testing throughout the period of employment.
