JOB SUMMARY

The objective of the Bus Driver is to operate up to a 20-passenger wheelchair lift equipped bus or van to transport the public in a safe and timely manner, with excellent customer service, assisting passengers in boarding and debarking; to communicate with dispatcher and passengers to ensure effective service; to maintain cleanliness of vehicle; may operate in an on-demand mode or on a route schedule.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide transportation for the public.
• Meet performance standards for on-time schedules, customer satisfaction and vehicle cleanliness.
• Communicate frequently with dispatcher for drop off and pick up times for riders.
• Maintain daily records of passenger data and provide transportation reports as required by KDOT.
• Performs pre/post-departure vehicle checks.
• Report maintenance and upkeep needs for vehicles when needed to supervisor.
• Assist passengers in boarding and debarking, assisting passengers on and off the bus if necessary.
• Attend mandatory RTAP Driver’s Training as required by KDOT.
• Attend training sessions and staff meetings.
• Greet customers and assist with questions they may have, providing excellent customer service.
