Qualifications

• Drug and Alcohol Testing Program compliance
• NYSED Physical Performance Test: drag 125 lbs 30' in 30 seconds
• Must be at least 21 years old

Responsibilities

• Operate a school bus safely and efficiently on assigned routes
• Inspect bus condition before each trip
• Report mechanical defects to bus garage
• Instruct students on safety procedures entering/exiting the bus
• Maintain orderly conduct of students on the bus

Job description

Arlington Central School District is currently hiringBus Drivers for the 2026-2027school year. This position offers a minimum of 25 hours per week plus benefits with opportunities to work extra hours.

Typical work may include but is not limited to the following:

• Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of a school bus used in the transportation of studentson an assigned route;
• Check the operating condition of a school bus before starting a regular run or trip;
• Report any mechanical defects of a bus to the bus garage;
• Instruct/inform students and program participants about practices when entering or exiting a bus and while in transit;
• Maintain the orderly conduct of students on the bus

• Must have a Class B permit with P & S endorsements before applying and then paid training available upon hiring (conditions apply);
• Bus Driver must complete the NYS Basic 30-hour School Bus Driver Instructional Program within the first year of employment;
• Responsible for attending and completing all required training;
• Candidates are required to submit to an appropriate medical examination conducted by theemploying school district according to the requirements of Section 611 of the Regulations of theCommissioner of Motor Vehicles;
• Candidates are required to submit to the district's Drug and Alcohol Testing Programaccording to federal regulations;
• Meet NYSED Physical Performance Test requirements (drag 125 lbs. 30' in 30 seconds);
• Must be at least 21 years of age;
• Physically able to perform essential functions of the position (with or without reasonableaccommodation).
