Job summary

The Out-of-Door Academy in Sarasota, FL is seeking a Part-Time Bus Driver to join our transportation team. You will safely transport students on scheduled routes, field trips, athletic runs and special events, ensuring students are released to approved persons.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED and a valid CDL with S endorsement, plus Passenger and Airbrake endorsements. The rate starts at $26.40 per hour; days and hours may vary depending on transportation department needs.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or GED required.
• Valid CDL with “S” endorsement required; Passenger & Airbrake endorsement required.
• Must maintain a calm presence at all times.
• Strong verbal communication skills are required.
• Strong interpersonal skills; self-directed individual who is solution oriented, flexible and works well with teams and individuals while possessing a positive attitude.
• Certification in CPR/AED/First Aid preferred; will provide upon hire if needed.
• Must have valid transportation to/from work each day.
• A successful track record of working effectively with a wide range of constituencies including students, faculty, staff and parents.

This is a part-time, non-exempt position available immediately. Days and hours may vary, depending on the needs of the Transportation department. The rate of pay starts at $26.40 per hour.
