Job summary

Newington Public Schools is seeking friendly individuals to transport students to and from school and school-sponsored events. Trainees will be compensated at the training wage during CDL preparation, typically a few hours weekly over several weeks.

Ideal candidates have a genuine interest in driving, a clean driving history, and a safety-first mindset when around children. Drivers in training are expected to continue with the district after licensing.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Interest in driving and working around children.
• Willingness to train for CDL with P & S endorsements.

Responsibilities

• Transport students to and from school and school-sponsored events.
• Attend CDL training with compensation at entry wage during training.
• Commit to serving at least one school year after licensing.
