Job description

Role Mission:

The Bus Driver is responsible for transporting students over scheduled routes to and from various school sites and ensuring the safety of all passengers riding the school bus. Employees in this role work under general supervision within a framework of standard policies and procedures. The role includes ensuring the safety of all passengers, including special education students, while operating the bus and maintaining the vehicle in safe operating condition.

Compensation:

• Hourly rate between $17.44 (0 years of experience) and $21.80
• Performance bonus based on team performance and goal attainment

Qualifications:

• GED or High School Diploma
• Experience in operating large passenger vehicles or equivalent training; ability to manage student behavior
• Valid CDL with class P and S endorsements
• Completed bus driver safety training
• Over 21 years old
• Pass drug and alcohol tests
• DOT Physical Examination

What You’ll Do – Accountabilities:

• Safely transport students, maintain order, and conduct safety inspections
• Oversee loading/unloading, maintain records, and communicate delays
• Ensure credentials are current and comply with DOT and IDEA policies
• Manage multiple tasks, prioritize, and adapt to changing circumstances
• Work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, with a minimum of 32 hours/week
