Job DescriptionThe Bus Driver is responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of students to and from school, field trips, and other school-related activities. This role ensures the well-being of students during transit, maintains the cleanliness and operational readiness of the bus, and complies with all federal, state, and local transportation regulations.
Key Responsibilities
This description outlines the primary duties of the position; however, CSSOs may be required to perform other job-related tasks as directed by a supervisor to ensure smooth school operations.
Work Environment
The role involves operating a school bus in various weather and traffic situations. The Bus Driver must remain alert and focused to ensure the safety of all passengers. Interaction with students, parents, and staff is a regular part of the job.
Education:High school diploma or equivalent required.
Licenses:Arkansas Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class B with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements.
Experience : Prior experience as a school bus driver is preferred.
Compensation
Bus Driver wages will be based on individual experience and within the SY 2025-26 Salary Schedule range.
