Job summary

The City of Owensboro is seeking a safety-sensitive bus driver to operate assigned routes and charters within Daviess County. You will provide courteous, customer-focused service and assist passengers, including riders with disabilities, on a daily basis.

Minimum requirements include a high school diploma or GED (or equivalent), a valid driver's license with CDL Class B and Passenger endorsement preferred after hire, the ability to lift up to 100 pounds, and being at least 18 years old.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED, or equivalent combination of education/experience.
• Valid driver’s license; CDL Class B or higher with Passenger endorsement preferred at application and required after hire.
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 100 lbs., assist disabled passengers, and perform all physical job demands.
• Minimum age 18.

Job description

Safety-sensitive position regulated under the Department of Transportation. This role is responsible for safely operating transit passenger vehicles on designated routes.

Primary essential functions include:

• Driving assigned routes and charters within Daviess County
• Providing courteous, timely, customer-focused service
• Assisting trolley and transit passengers as needed

1. High school diploma or GED; OR 3 months of experience as a bus driver or similar role. Equivalent

education/experience acceptable

2. Valid driver's license. Valid CDL Class B or higher with Passenger (P) endorsement preferred at

application, required after hire

3. Ability to lift and/or move up to 100 lbs., assist disabled passengers, and perform all physical job

demands

4. Minimum age 18

Starting Pay: $23.6327 per hour
