Responsibilities

  • Drives bus to transport passengers over specified routes to local or distant points according to time schedule, assists passengers with baggage and collects tickets or cash fares, regulates heating, lighting, and ventilating systems for passenger comfort, complies with local traffic regulations, and reports delays or accidents.
  • Records cash receipts and ticket fares, may make repairs and change tires, may inspect bus and check gas, oil, and water before departure, load or unload baggage or express checked by passengers in baggage compartment; transports pupils between pickup points and school, and may drive diesel or electric powered transit bus to transport passengers over established city route.

Qualifications

  • Must have a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with Passenger (P) endorsement.
  • Must have a valid and current medical card.

  • Must have a minimum of 4+ years bus driving experience.

  • Must be able to pass Pre-Employment Drug Test and Background Screening.

  • Must be able to receive a favorable TIER-1 investigation result.

  • Must have a minimum of a High School Diploma / GED.

Desired Qualifications:

  • U.S. Army 88M series MOS qualification or civilian equivalent.

Physical Demand:

  • Physical requirements include (but are not limited to) the ability to lift 60 pounds, pushing, pulling, carrying, stooping, bending, squatting, and reaching.

  • Work environment includes periodic overtime, exposure to heat, dust, cold, and inclement weather conditions.

Pay and Benefits:

  • Hourly Compensation: $19.10.

  • New Hire Retention Bonus - $1,000 total bonus issued - ($250 issued after 3 months, $250 after 6 months, and final $500 paid after 1 year).
