NOTICE OF OPENING: Bus Driver
LOCATION: Various Locations
WORK YEAR: 2024-2025 School Year - guaranteed 25 hours a week or more
SALARY: $17.95 to $23.13 per hour

QUALIFICATIONS

• Valid Michigan Commercial Drivers License with air brake classification and Passenger & School Bus Endorsements: CDL- B, P, & S.
• Minimum qualification required: CLP - Commercial Learners Permit.
• Paid training provided with CLP depending on experience and the following list of qualifications:
• Proof of excellent driving record.
• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Must meet and maintain health requirements of DOT regulations.
• Must meet and maintain Federal DOT drug/alcohol testing requirements.
• Must meet and maintain District/Michigan Department of Education competency levels of driving skills.
• Previous work experience with children of all ages, including children with disabilities, and the ability to be sensitive to their needs preferred.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Ability to effectively and professionally communicate with students, parents, and staff.
• Ability to work directly with students in an appropriate and professional manner and to give direction as needed.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
• Ability to work outside and drive in inclement weather conditions.
• Ability to sit and drive for extended periods of time.
• Ability to walk, bend, stoop, and squat as part of daily job duties.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for the safe and efficient school bus transportation of assigned students to and from school and school-related events.
• Responsible for maintaining all traffic laws, regulations, and district policies/procedures.
