Job summary

The Citizen Potawatomi Nation's Child Development Center is seeking a part-time Bus Driver to transport students in coordination with school schedules. The role requires maintaining the Class B CDL with a passenger endorsement and ensuring safety during pre-trip and post-trip inspections.

Responsibilities include punctual attendance, transporting children to and from school and activities, and adhering to DOT and background check requirements.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Must have CPR and First Aid certification.
• Must have CDL license with Passenger endorsement.
• Must be able to pass background check.
• Up to date DOT exam.

Responsibilities

• Being on time and present each day as scheduled to work. Schedule is determined by the public school hours of operation.
• Available to drive the vehicle to pick up and deliver children from school or other activities.
• Performs Pre & Post – Trip inspections.
• Alerts Management to needed vehicle maintenance or repair.
• Knowledge of Bus Evacuation and perform evacuation drill twice annually.

JOB TITLE: BUS DRIVER (Part-time)

ORGANIZATIONAL: Child Development Center

SUPERVISOR: Manager of Child Development After School & Director of Child Development Center

FLSA: Non-Exempt

PAY RANGE: $18.00-$25.00

CDL with passenger endorsement required.

CPN Child Development services personnel are assigned to provide services to clients of all ages including but not limited to Indian Children and will require a criminal history background screening.

JOB SUMMARY: Driver of Multi-Function Activity bus for pickup at local public-school systems and drop off at Child Development Center. Driver for field trips. Maintain Class B CDL with passenger endorsement. Maintains cleanliness and performs required Pre-Trip / Post- Trip inspections.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR CONSIDERATION:

• Must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent.

• Must be able to pass background check.
• Up to date DOT Exam.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Sitting and standing for long periods of time; occasional bending, squatting, kneeling, stooping; good finger dexterity and feeling; frequent repetitive motions; and visual acuity.
• Occasional lifting. (up to100)
• Check all buses before leaving Child Development Center.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

• Child care environment
• Outside environment (hot and cold)
