Job summary

Union Elementary District in Tolleson, AZ is seeking dependable Bus Drivers to provide safe student transportation for daily routes, field trips, and district activities. You will ensure loading/unloading safety, oversee student behavior, and perform pre/post-trip inspections.

The role requires a High School diploma or equivalent, a valid Class B CDL, and a Bus Driver’s Certificate with CPR/First Aid certification. AZDOT physical, drug testing, and background clearance are mandatory.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Safely transport students along assigned routes and to activities.

• Complete required pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
• Maintain buses in clean, safe condition.
• Respond to emergencies, accidents and road hazards.
• Maintain transportation records and mileage logs.
• Communicate transportation information with students, parents and staff as needed.

Bus Driver

Union Elementary School District is seeking dependable and safety-focused Bus Drivers to provide safe and reliable transportation for students to and from school, field trips, and other district activities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Safely transport students along assigned routes and to school activities.
• Ensure student safety during loading, unloading, and transportation.
• Monitor student behavior and reinforce transportation safety expectations.
• Complete required pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
• Maintain assigned buses in a clean and safe operating condition.
• Respond appropriately to emergencies, accidents, and road hazards.
• Complete required transportation, inspection, mileage, and incident records.
• Communicate transportation information with students, parents, and staff as needed.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Job-related driving experience.
• Valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
• Bus Driver’s Certificate.
• CPR/First Aid certification.
• Must pass required AZDOT physical and drug testing requirements.
• Must successfully complete criminal background/fingerprint clearance.
• Ability to safely work with and communicate effectively with school-age students.
