Job summary

Vance Airscoop is seeking a dependable school bus driver to transport students, staff, and visitors to off-campus locations while adhering to strict schedules and safety rules. You will conduct pre-trip inspections, report damages, and maintain a clean vehicle for a diverse campus community.

Requirements include a valid CDL with P and school bus endorsements, a clean driving record, and at least 25 years old. Overnight travel may be necessary, with weekends or evenings possible.

Qualifications

• Valid CDL with Passenger and School Bus endorsements required.

• Willingness to travel overnight as needed.

• Perform duties as assigned by the Vice President of Finance and Operations.

General Description and Purpose

Responsible for transporting students, staff and visitors to off-campus locations, for student activities and other events, following strict schedules and safety regulations. Must maintain the vehicle for cleanliness, perform safety inspections, and provide polite, professional service to a diverse community.

Primary Functions/Responsibilities

• Drive PCC buses as needed. Some overnight travel is required.


• Report all damage of college property.


• Serve the College and its customers in a professional and congenial manner.

Coordination and Accountability Tasks

Perform other duties as assigned by the Vice President of Finance and Operations.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and other Characteristics

• Valid driver’s license with CDL, passenger and air brake endorsements requiring seating of seating of 10 or more people


• Clean driving record.


• 25 years of age.


• Punctual and dependable.


• Ability to communicate with other employees and students.


• Performing pre-trip and post-trip vehicle safety inspections.


• Transporting passengers safely to and from destinations.


• Reporting of logs, mileage reports, and incident/accident reports.


• Must be able to follow a designated route and maintain strict time schedules.


• Drive bus safely in various weather and traffic conditions.


• Able to read and understand instructions.

Experience

Experience in driving a bus or other vehicle that requires a CDL

Education

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Certifications and/or Licensure

• CDL requiring a Passenger (P) and school Bus endorsement.


• Frist Aid/CPR Certification

Work Conditions/Environment

• Work weekends and nights with overnight travel
