Position Title: Bus Driver

  • Salary: Based on local salary schedule, $15.00 hourly
  • Term: 10 Month
  • Benefits: Partial benefits include partial earned annual and sick leave
  • Qualifications: High School or Equivalent (preferred). CDL with (P) Passenger and (S) School Bus endorsements is required. Must have strong communication skills in dealing with students and parents. Must possess leadership skills to maintain discipline on the bus. Must be dependable and punctual.
Job Description
  • Safely transport students to and from school.
  • Perform safety pre-checks, report malfunctions, handle vehicle breakdowns, and maintain a clean safe environment.
  • Follow school district procedures while driving assigned bus routes.
  • Follow route set by Transportation Director to provide consistent pick-up/drop-off schedule.
  • Manage students' behavior while on the bus and take suitable actions to resolve incidents between or among students.
  • Report inappropriate behavior to school authorities promptly.
  • Know NC driving laws and regulations including safe bus operations.
Reports To:

Superintendent, Transportation Director, Principal, or designee.
