This part-time role involves operating a school bus, performing safety inspections and engaged with students during pickups and drop-offs. 0-1 years - $29.00
1-5 years - $30.00
+5 years - $31.00
Signing bonus of $1,250 with no experience and $2,500 with experience
Eligible at 20 hours per week

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Safely operates a school bus by assessing traffic and road conditions, monitoring student behavior and other factors necessary to safely deliver student passengers to and from school by adhering to state laws and school policies. Drivers will be evaluated on driving and student management skills annually.
Stops at authorized locations and transports only authorized passengers.Supervises safe loading and unloading of students. Updates routes and maps and adjusts timetables as necessary. Communicates all route changes and hazards to the appropriate personnel.
Performs bus safety pre-trip inspections as required by law to assure proper vehicle working condition. Maintains all safety equipment. Reports all accidents immediately. Adheres to safe work behaviors and promptly corrects unsafe conditions and/or behaviors which may lead to accidents. Drivers will be evaluated on pre-trip inspections annually.
Communicates to mechanics all defects and maintenance needs. Performs post-trip inspection to check for vandalism, lost articles or sleeping students. Fuels bus as necessary.
Organizes and performs bus evacuations and selects and trains bus safety assistants. Reports all stop arm violations to the appropriate law enforcement agency. Responsible for ensuring the safety of all students entering and exiting the bus by stopping all traffic in accordance with state law.
Monitors student behavior and provides written reports for all incidents of misconduct to the Director of Transportation. Communicates student conduct and route information to parents and school staff as necessary.
Maintains a safe and sanitary bus environment for students by sweeping and dusting the interior daily. Is responsible to ensure that the emergency lights are free of dirt and snow.
Attends and participates in in-service meeting(s) and completes certification training for CPR/First Aid.
Maintains driver licensing including CDL with school bus endorsement. Notifies supervisor immediately of any change in CDL license status and/or endorsements.
Performs daily record keeping activities such as pre-trip inspection forms, route surveys and route maps.
Performs other tasks as assigned.
Driver Requirements:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job:
Work requires moderate physical effort and use of motor skills necessary to drive and maintain school bus.
While performing duties of this job, employees will regularly stand, walk, stoop and kneel.
Operates school bus, which requires coordinated movements.
Driver must be able to safely exit via the rear emergency door and safely assist students ranging in weight from 50 to 200 pounds off the bus out of same rear emergency door and to safety as needed. Drivers are tested by Breck annually to ensure they can meet these criteria.
