Job summary

Southwest Allen County Schools is seeking a dependable school bus driver for a 9‑month position. You will transport students along designated routes, adhere to schedules, and ensure safety at all times.

The role requires a valid driver’s license, ability to obtain CDL Indiana certification, and completion of district training; prior driving experience is beneficial.

Qualifications

• Must currently hold a valid driver's license and pass a physical.
• Must be able to complete SACS provided training and be able to obtain a CDL license and Indiana certification as a bus driver.
• Need the ability to work and communicate effectively.
• Must be flexible and patient with students of all ages.

Responsibilities

• Safely drive a school bus on designated routes following time schedules.
• Assist with loading and unloading students at stops.
• Maintain proper student discipline and report any issues according to district policies.

Terms of Employment

This is a 9 month position. Benefits are available for full-time drivers. May consider Non-CDL for Mini Bus Drivers.

• Trainees: $17.40/hour
• CDL License: $22.84/hour (This can increase based on years of experience.)
