Salary Range: $27.80 - $27.80 Hourly


The School Bus Driver is responsible for safely transporting students to and from school, field trips, late bus routes and other school-related activities. This position requires a commitment to safety, punctuality, and excellent customer service.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Safety:


  • Operate the school bus in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.

  • Conduct pre and post trip inspections to ensure the bus is in safe operating condition.

  • Maintain a clean and orderly bus environment.

  • Supervise student behavior on the bus and implement appropriate disciplinary measures.


Transportation:


  • Transport students to and from school, field trips, and other school-related activities according to established routes and schedules.

  • Ensure that all students are properly seated and secured before driving.

  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff.


Compliance:


  • Comply with all state and federal regulations pertaining to school bus operations.

  • Attend required training and professional development sessions.


Qualifications:


  • Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with both “P” and “S” endorsement

  • Clean driving record.

  • Ability to pass a physical examination and drug test.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Positive and professional attitude.


Working Conditions:


  • Work hours may vary, including split shifts, early mornings, evenings and the occasional weekend run.

  • Exposure to varying weather conditions.

  • Frequent interaction with children and parents.


Physical Demands:


  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time.

  • Ability to lift and carry heavy objects.

  • Ability to stand and walk frequently.

  • Ability to bend, kneel, and reach.

Although this is a good faith and reasonable estimate of the possible compensation at the time of posting, Colorado Academy reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range. QualificationsRequirements


  • Driving safely is most important qualification

  • Minimum 21 years of age

  • High School graduate or equivalent

  • Must possess a current Colorado CDL Class B – SP2

  • Motor Vehicle Record must meet school safety standards

  • Must pass Department of Transportation physical exam

  • Must pass Criminal Background Check

  • Being a highly motivated team player with a professional attitude is necessary.
