Job summary

Colorado Academy in Denver, CO seeks a School Bus Driver to transport students safely to and from school, field trips, and events. You will follow routes, supervise students, and ensure seat belts and safety procedures are followed.

Requirements include a Colorado CDL Class B – SP2 with P and S endorsements, clean driving record, ability to pass a DOT physical and background checks, and a commitment to safety and service.

Salary Range: $27.80 - $27.80 Hourly

The School Bus Driver is responsible for safely transporting students to and from school, field trips, late bus routes and other school-related activities. This position requires a commitment to safety, punctuality, and excellent customer service.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Safety:

• Operate the school bus in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.


• Conduct pre and post trip inspections to ensure the bus is in safe operating condition.


• Maintain a clean and orderly bus environment.


• Supervise student behavior on the bus and implement appropriate disciplinary measures.

Transportation:

• Transport students to and from school, field trips, and other school-related activities according to established routes and schedules.


• Ensure that all students are properly seated and secured before driving.


• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff.

Compliance:

• Comply with all state and federal regulations pertaining to school bus operations.


• Attend required training and professional development sessions.

Qualifications:

• Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with both “P” and “S” endorsement


• Clean driving record.


• Ability to pass a physical examination and drug test.


• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.


• Strong organizational and time management skills.

Working Conditions:

• Work hours may vary, including split shifts, early mornings, evenings and the occasional weekend run.


• Exposure to varying weather conditions.

Physical Demands:

• Ability to stand and walk frequently.
