Job summary

Assumption Parish School District is seeking a Headstart Substitute - Bus Attendant in Napoleonville, Louisiana. This substitute role covers 5 hours per day, reporting to the Bus Driver, and supporting safe student transport on the school bus.

Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident or have a work visa.
• Substitute position for 5 hours per day with punctual attendance.
• Ability to assist young and disabled students on/off bus and safely secure wheelchairs.

Responsibilities

• Assist bus driver in maintaining safety, comfort, and good student conduct on the bus.
• Assist young and disabled students in getting on and off the bus/secure wheelchairs using proper restraint procedures.
• Assist the driver in negotiating through particularly hazardous areas such as turning areas.
• Perform any other duties as assigned by the Supervisor of Transportation which are consistent with local, state, and federal policies.
