Scottsdale Unified School District is seeking a first-level bus attendant. Incumbents monitor and secure students with special needs during loading/unloading and help maintain order on the bus.
Responsibilities include operating safety restraints and wheelchair lifts, responding to parent inquiries with compassion, and performing routine cleaning and light maintenance while following safety protocols. A high school diploma or GED is required.
PAY GRADE: C
FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt
POSITION OBJECTIVE: This is the first level in the series. Incumbents are responsible for monitoring and securing special needs and other students. Monitors bus equipment use and student behavior and safety.
High School Diploma, or G.E.D.; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.
Positions in this class typically require: climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, finger dexterity, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.
Medium Work: Exerting up to 125 pounds of force for testing, up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Incumbents may be subjected to fumes, odors, and extreme temperatures.
