Job summary

Gloucester Township School District is seeking a Bus Aide to support a bus driver and ensure safe transport for students in Gloucester Township, New Jersey.

The position is part-time, 10 months, pay is $17.50 per hour, and requires ability to read/write, good health, and knowledge of passenger safety. Starting date immediately.

Responsibilities

• Assist the bus driver in maintaining student conduct on the bus.

• Collect personal items left on the bus and turn them over to the school office.
• Provide instruction to students regarding passenger safety and ensure that students wear their seat belts when the bus is so equipped.

REPORTS TO: Transportation Supervisor

JOB GOAL: To assist the bus driver in providing safe transportation for the students.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist the bus driver in maintaining student conduct on the bus.
• Assist young or disabled students in getting on and off the bus.
• Provide written records of violations of student code to the building principal.
• Collect personal items left on the bus and turn them over to the school office.
• Provide instruction to students regarding passenger safety and ensure that students wear their seat belts when the bus is so equipped.
