Steel Craft Technologies is seeking a Burner Programmer for a full-time day shift in Kentucky. You will set up and program plasma and oxyfuel cutting machines, edit drawings in CAD, and optimize nests with SigmaNest while ensuring quality and traceability.

Ideal candidates have experience with laser/plasma/burning equipment, strong reading of blueprints, and excellent attention to detail. Strong teamwork and the ability to work independently are required.

Qualifications

• Previous experience with laser/plasma/burning machines is required.
• Candidate must have high school or equivalent education.
• Candidate must be able to read and speak English.
• Candidate must be able to read a tape measure.
• Candidate must work well with others and have strong attention to detail.
• Familiarity with interpreting technical drawings/blueprints is required.
• Ability to work independently while following directions is essential.
• Positive and professional attitude.

Responsibilities

• Set up and program plasma and oxyfuel cutting machines; select appropriate materials for each work order.
• Edit and prepare drawings using CAD software for machine programming.
• Create efficient nests using SigmaNest to maximize material utilization and production output.
• Monitor and manage plate inventory within SigmaNest.
• Ensure proper machine operation and maintain consistent quality throughout production.
• Maintain full traceability for all jobs and materials.
• Meet daily production goals while adhering to quality and quantity standards.
• Follow all safety procedures and company policies at all times.
• Perform quality assurance checks to verify products meet design specifications.
• Collaborate with machine operators to resolve programming and production issues.
• Use software tools to model cutting paths and generate accurate machine programs.
• Adjust machine settings and cutting paths to optimize efficiency without compromising quality.
• Troubleshoot and resolve machine, programming, and production issues as they arise.
• Interpret technical drawings and blueprints to ensure accurate machine setup and operation

Reports to : Shift Supervisor

Supervisory responsibilities : None.

Summary/objective : SCT is seeking a Burner Programmer for their team! The ideal candidate would have experience working with laser, plasma, and/or burning machines, familiarity with technical blueprint reading and interpretation, and a strong attention to detail.

Required competency, education, and experience :

Work environment : Manufacturing facility

Physical demands :

• Candidate must have full use of all limbs.
• Ability to stand for extended periods.
• Candidate must be able to lift 25 pounds.

Position type and expected hours of work : Full time - day shift. 6 am to 2 pm. Overtime required based on company workload.
