Job summary

MedStar Washington Hospital Center invites applications for a Burn Surgery Clinical Fellow for the 2028-2029 academic year. The program exposes a BE/BC general or plastic surgeon to comprehensive burn care at a major urban center with a 100-mile catchment area.

Successful applicants will be BC or BE in General Surgery or Plastic Surgery; SCC BE/BC is also acceptable. Completion may lead to a second year in Surgical Critical Care. Strong multidisciplinary collaboration is emphasized.

Qualifications

• BC or BE in General Surgery or Plastic Surgery is required.
• May also be BE/BC on Surgical Critical Care (SCC).
• Fellowship training will focus on burn care across the spectrum of cases.

Responsibilities

• Manage the full spectrum of burn and complex wound care.
• Gain in-depth experience in acute resuscitation and critical care management.
• Participate in surgical management, nutrition, rehabilitation, and long-term reconstruction.
