Job summary

Orlando Health is seeking an accomplished Burn Surgeon to serve as Medical Director of the Orlando Health Burn Program. This full-time leadership role focuses on clinical excellence, program development, and multidisciplinary collaboration.

The Medical Director will lead ABA-verified burn services, oversee acute resuscitation, operative management, rehabilitation planning and advanced wound care while partnering with hospital leadership to sustain top outcomes and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated leadership experience, including prior experience leading a burn program.
• Board certification or eligibility in general or plastic surgery with subspecialty burn training.
• Completion of an ACGME or AOA accredited burn fellowship; firefighter-level expertise not required.

Responsibilities

• Direct acute burn resuscitation and critical care management.
• Oversee operative management for major burn injuries.
• Lead rehabilitation planning and long-term recovery efforts.
• Utilize advanced wound coverage and grafting techniques.
• Apply reconstructive burn surgery expertise, including scar management.
• Partner with multidisciplinary teams to deliver coordinated patient care.
• Lead quality improvement, clinical innovation and program development.
• Collaborate with hospital leadership to expand the burn program and maintain ABA verification.
