Job summary

Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center is seeking a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join the Burn Center team. The role provides inpatient and outpatient care to adults with acute burns and complex wounds, collaborating with surgeons, physicians, nurses and therapists in a fast-paced academic environment.

Requirements include an earned Master’s or Doctorate in an NP/PA program, Maryland NP/PA license, and ABLS certification within one year of hire.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or Doctorate in NP/PA program required.
• Current Maryland NP or PA license.
• ABLS Certification required within 1 year of hire.
• Inpatient clinical experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments, develop and implement treatment plans, and monitor progress.
• Provide inpatient management of adult burn patients and complex wounds.
• Participate in daily rounds and coordinate care with the multidisciplinary team.
• Perform procedures and assist with bedside and operative interventions within scope of practice.
• Manage wound care including debridement and dressings; monitor healing progression.
• Recognize condition changes and initiate diagnostic and therapeutic steps.
• Order and interpret diagnostic studies; adjust plans with supervising physician.
• Educate patients and families on treatment, wound care, and discharge needs.
• Coordinate transitions of care with outpatient services to ensure continuity.
• Participate in quality improvement and clinical initiatives within the Burn Center.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation per Johns Hopkins standards.
