Job summary

Shaw Industries is hiring a Burkle Technician Assistant for a 12-hour night shift at their Dalton, GA production facility. You will assist Burkle technicians on the Burkle line, perform quality inspections, and ensure safe material transport using a lift truck to maximize production efficiency.

You will report to shift leads and production coordinators. The role requires OSHA safety compliance, ability to work with limited supervision, and readiness for a rotating night schedule.

Qualifications

• Must comply with OSHA and plant safety rules.
• Able to work with minimal supervision.
• Capable of rotating head/neck for full visibility.
• Able to climb stairs to operate equipment.

Responsibilities

• Move materials between lines and storage to WIP areas.
• Perform lift truck checks daily and document results.
• Maintain quality standards and inspect pallets for defects.
• Operate Burkle line equipment and assist technicians.
• Support inventory counts and housekeeping tasks.
• Troubleshoot minor jams and assist with robot cups.
• Restock PPE and ensure a clean, safe workspace.

Job Title

Burkle Technician Assistant - 12 Hour Night Shift

Position Overview

Help support run the 2-meter Burkle lineefficientandsafewith themaximumamount of production and a minimal amount of off-quality.

Operatoris responsible forassistingthe Burkle Technicians on the Burkle line with quality inspections and ensure the safetransportingof materials throughout the plantutilizinga lift truck.

This position reports to theshiftLeads and Production Coordinators.

12 Hour Night Shift - Swing Shift

8:00 PM - 8:00 AM

Pay Rate: $21.91

Moving materials from manufacturing lines or storage locations to WIP areas or other assigned areas.

Daily completion of lift truck check sheets.

Achieving set quality standards

Documenting process settingsinthe computer.

Must be able to print,relocate, and issue pallets usingUSF2system.

Assist Burkle technicians manage the chemical tank farm to include drums and totes.

Safelyoperatea crane for the Hoover Tank Farm to transport drums of primer

Restock totes of topcoat chemistry for the Burkle mezzanine

Perform Black Box Inspections for each pallet at the outfeed of Burkle line (visual quality inspections of products for defects and grading)

Operator must be able to start and stop the Burkle line

Assist Burkle technicians on the infeed and/ oroutfeed conveyors during minor jams or general maintenance.

Assist Burkle technicians change out/ troubleshoot robot suction cups when needed

Assistwith performing inventory cycle counts as needed.

Assistin general housekeeping tasks (cleaning UV lamps, disposal of old UV lamps,blowout underneath ovens and conveyors,cleansink station.)

Assist Burkle Technicians with operation of Burkle equipment and Quality Tools

Clean and dry Burkle applicator and doctor rolls when needed

Operating the conveyor system for the Burkle line.

Cross training to fill in as aburkletech as needed

Operate floor sweeper when needed.

Maintaining a neat and orderlywork space.

Maintain production lines with the correct materials

Restock all the PPE for the Burkle Line (rags, hand changing towels, gloves, yellow suits, face shields, etc.)

Safely cut and prepare coupons for the Burkle Technicians when needed

Remove, collect, and properly dispose of shipping materials including pallets, straps, cardboard, and bolsters.

Changinglift truck or other PIT batteries as needed.

Work normally scheduled days adhering to starting and stopping times. Work overtime asrequired.

Performing the duties of other LTO’s when necessary.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Mustcomply withall required OSHA, SAFE, and plant specific safety rules and regulations.

Must be able to work without close supervision.

Capable of head,neckand body rotation for full visibility of surroundings.

Must be able to occasionally climb stairs tooperateequipment

Preferred:

Previousexperienceoperatingpowered industrial machinery

Experience with continuous manufacturing processes.

Work Shift

12 Hr rotating shift, Hrs fall to in punch day, Act Calendar, shift starts PM, days change only
