Qualifications

  • Ability to read work orders and safety instructions.
  • Valid Driver’s License; Class A CDL preferred.

As a Buried Equipment Operator, you will perform duties related to the installation, repair, and maintenance of underground utility constructions safely and effectively.

What you'll do...

  • Safely operate equipment on the jobsite, including but not limited to: Directional Drill, Backhoe / Excavator, Skid Steer, Tractor Trailer (for moving equipment and hauling water), Vacuum Truck/Trailer.
  • Place conduit and cable.
  • Restore and landscape disturbed areas of the jobsite.
  • Responsible for site setup and cleanup.
  • Load and unload tools, materials, and equipment on trucks.
  • Participate in new site Job Safety Analysis (JSA) prior to construction.
  • Set up safety perimeters using signage, cones, and barriers; flag traffic as needed.
  • Follow instructions accurately.

Who we are looking for...

  • Experience with heavy equipment, understanding their capabilities and limitations.
  • Basic ability to use small tools/hand tools.
  • Ability to read and understand work orders, safety rules, and operating instructions.
  • Valid Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record; Class A Commercial Driver's License preferred.
  • Proficiency in using locators to identify utilities safely.
  • Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Safety-conscious attitude.
  • Availability to work overtime, after hours, weekends, or be on-call for emergencies.
  • Previous construction or utility construction experience.
