Description

POSITION PURPOSE:

To assist in the effective supervision and direction of the lounge bar operations of our existing and planned establishments in reference to quality, service, supervision of associates, monitoring the quality and consistency of cocktail/beverage production, cost control, and inventory.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  1. Train bartenders on proper etiquette and techniques when executing beverage orders.
  2. Maintain proper bar setup daily. Complete requisitions to stock all beer, wine, spirits, drink accessories, and garnishes based on projections from the daily function sheet.
  3. Oversee stocking, cutting, and storage of all fresh garnishes, juices, and perishables to ensure product freshness.
  4. Provide courteous and friendly service to all guests in the bar & lounge area, attending to their needs and promoting in-house specials, including guest requests or unanticipated needs.
  5. Serve food and beverage items to guests in the restaurant and hotel outlets as needed to ensure satisfaction.
  6. Maintain cleanliness of the bar and guest areas throughout the shift, assisting with general cleaning tasks using standard cleaning products to adhere to health standards.
  7. Use the point of sale system to enter all guest orders, ensuring each beverage is accounted for with a check.
  8. Receive payments via cash, credit card, or room charge, and make change as needed.
  9. Lock up and store all food, beverage, and equipment properly.
  10. Maintain a proper house bank, deposit cash drops, and secure the bank.
  11. Adhere to all State, Federal, and Corporate liquor regulations regarding serving alcohol to minors and intoxicated guests.
  12. Assist with counts, inventories, and maintenance of pars.
  13. Complete end-of-day sales and tip allocation reports.
  14. Perform other duties as assigned, such as assisting security with disorderly guests.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
  1. Must be 19 years or older to serve alcohol.
  2. Knowledge of preparation and service of various food & alcoholic beverages.
  3. Basic mathematical skills for operating a cash register, making change, totaling checks, and preparing cash drops.
  4. Basic English writing skills for completing requisitions, balance sheets, and vouchers.
  5. Sufficient manual dexterity to handle garnishes, glassware, bottles, ice, and reach overhead for stock.
  6. Ability to communicate effectively in English with guests and take orders.
  7. Ability to remember, recite, and promote menu items.
  8. Ability to operate a keyboard and perform point of sale procedures.
  9. Ability to stand and work in confined spaces for long periods.
  10. Previous bartending experience required.
  11. Ability to obtain Alcohol Awareness certification and any required licenses or certificates; bartending certification preferred.
