Job summary

Louisiana Bridge Builders in Lake Charles, LA, is seeking a construction equipment operator to support the I-10 Calcasieu River Bridge project. The role involves operating machinery, adhering to blueprints, and coordinating with crew members for safe, efficient earthmoving tasks.

Qualified candidates will have at least 2 years of experience operating construction equipment. NCCER certification is preferred, and relocation assistance is available for approved cases.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of proven equipment operation experience.
• NCCER certification is preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints and construction plans.

Responsibilities

• Operate machinery to complete tasks such as grading, leveling, clearing debris, digging trenches, and pushing materials.
• Shape terrain, move large volumes of earth, rocks, and rubble according to blueprints and construction plans.
• Perform pre-shift equipment inspections.
• Perform basic routine operator maintenance, lubrication, and fueling of equipment.
• Coordinate machine actions with crew members using hand or audio signals.
• Operate machinery to perform tasks efficiently and safely.
• Perform all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Position Overview

Louisiana Bridge Builders (“LBB”) is designing and building the new I‑10 Calcasieu River Bridge in Lake Charles, Louisiana for the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (LADOTD). In addition to this project, LBB will reconstruct interstate highway, various structures, ramps, and approaches for a 5.5‑mile stretch between I‑210 West End and Ryan Street.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

Qualifications

At least 2 years of proven experience operating construction equipment. National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) Certification is preferred.
