Job summary

Ascentek in Kentucky is seeking a Shipping and Receiving Operator for the second shift (11:00 am – 7:30 pm). You will perform small package shipping, order picking and shipping, forklift operation, and handling bulk lubricants in a fast-paced warehouse.

You will maintain inventory with our warehouse management system, ensure safe operation of equipment, and follow DOT HazMat and safety guidelines. A high school diploma and forklift experience are preferred.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs periodically.
  • Must read and understand written and verbal instructions in English.
  • One or more years in a warehouse setting preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Operate pumps and bulk trucks in the warehouse.
  • Drive six different bulk trucks on site.
  • Handle hoses and connections to load products by the gallon.
  • Use warehouse management system to maintain inventory.
  • Pack and wrap pallets for shipment and prepare hazardous materials paperwork as needed.
  • Follow safety guidelines and company policies.

A position that is:

Hourly, Full time (Second Shift), Monday - Friday, 11:00 am - 7:30 pm

The Shipping and Receiving Operator is responsible for a variety of shipping tasks including small package shipping, picking orders, shipping orders, forklift operation, filling work orders handle bulk lubricants. The operator maintains accurate inventory through the use of the warehouse management system. The Operator is accountable for the safe and efficient operation of the vehicle and any tools, pumping systems used in the warehouse to complete tasks.

Bulk Loading Responsibilities
  • Operatingmechanical pumps in warehouse as well as hydraulic pumps on tanker trucks.
  • Operatingand drivingsix different bulk trucks on site.
  • Handlingmultiple hoses/connections to loadand offloadproductby the gallon.
  • Operatingin house pumps to fill totes,drumsand pails for work orders.
  • Following bulk standards and processes to ensureSafety, Quality, Service and Productivity.
  • Sustainingthe condition ofhoses,connectionsand pumps.
Warehouse Responsibilities
  • Using forklift and/or pallet jacks to accurately pick orders andloadingfreightregularly.
  • Receiving ofvendor receipts and transfers.
  • Inspects materials for nonconformities, following non-conforming process if necessary
  • Uses the warehouse management system –utilizesscanners tomaintainaccurateinventory.
  • Wrap pallets securely for shipment.
  • Preparation of hazardous materials for shipment, including completing DOT HAZMATpaperworkas necessary.
  • Pack cartons correctly and stack cartons on pallets.
  • Transfer bulk products into drums,totesand pails
  • Follows work instructions according to company policies and procedures
  • Follow all safety guidelines and regulations
Education:

High School Diploma or equivalent

Experience/Training:
  • Must be able to effectively communicate tomaintainpositive relations with team members
  • Capable of standing, walking and repeatedly climbing into and out of truck tractor or forklift several times throughout the day. Ability to lift 50lbs periodically
  • Must be able to perform basic math skills
  • Must have attention to detail
  • High Level of flexibility
  • Knowledge of quality management systems
  • Knowledge of inspection processes
  • Ability to read and understand written and verbal instructions in English
  • Must be able to perform basic mathematical skills
  • One or more years in a warehouse setting preferred
Licenses/Certificates:
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record
Technology/Equipment:
  • Working knowledge of a Warehouse Management System or ERP system preferred
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently asked to speak, hear, stand, sit, and/or use both hands to handle, or touch objects, tools or controls. The employee is occasionally required to walk, bend, distinguish colors or use repetitive movement for certain tasks. The employee must be able to lift and carry 25 to 60 lbs. occasionally and lift more than 60lbs. intermittently. Personal Protective Equipment must be used intermittently while working with certain hazardous materials. The mental and physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an individual to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

Work is performed in a warehouse setting. Noise level is moderate to loud. Although the warehouse is climate controlled, the employee will need to be able to adapt to different climate changes. The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an individual encounters while performing the essential functions of this position.

The anticipated hiring range for the role you are applying for is between $20and $24 hourly. This anticipated hiring range is based on several factors, and subject to increase based on the below:
