Job summary

Bunge Iberica SA in Avondale, Louisiana seeks a Distribution Technician to manage receipt, handling, bulk loading and shipping of vegetable oil and related ingredients. The role involves a 12-hour rotating shift, with overtime, nights, holidays and weekends.

The starting hourly wage ranges from $27 to $32 depending on experience, with opportunities to contribute to safety and efficiency on site.

Qualifications

Must be able to work independently and follow written and oral instructions.
Ability to read and understand technical documents and complete routine reports.
Ability to apply fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions in practical tasks.

Responsibilities

Demonstrates commitment to safe food and quality, complies with safety and regulatory requirements.
Loads and unloads railcars, trucks, tank containers, and other bulk transport.
Installs seals, strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting in transit.
Follows work orders and shipping instructions to move materials and complete shipments.
Removes samples, labels data, and sends to laboratory for analysis; checks tank temperatures.
Maintains inventory records and records units of supplies and materials.
Cleans and contains oil spills and maintains spill response readiness.
Assists in preparing equipment for startup/shutdown and adverse weather plans.
Performs other duties as needed or assigned.
