Job summary

Bunge in Avondale, Louisiana is seeking a Distribution Technician to support receipt, handling, bulk loading, and shipping of vegetable oil and related ingredients. The role operates on a twelve-hour rotating shift that includes overtime, nights, holidays, and weekends.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED.
Ability to read & understand technical documents.
Ability to complete routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Responsibilities

Demonstrates a commitment to supply safe food and maintain a food safety culture at the site.
Loads and unloads railcars, trucks, tank containers, and other bulk methods of transporting oil.
Installs seals, strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit.
Follows written work orders and instructions to determine materials to be moved or shipments to be loaded.
Removes samples, labels with identifying information, and takes samples to laboratory for analysis; checks temperatures of tanks.
Keeps accurate records of inventory and verifies units of supplies and raw materials.
Contains and cleans oil in the event of a spill.
Assists in preparing plant equipment for startup/shutdown and hazardous weather conditions.
